夏のワークショップ、第２弾は「揉み紙」。

揉み紙の技法は、文字通り和紙の揉み紋様を表す技法で、紙に上層と下層に違った日本画絵の具を塗って、揉み皺によって上層の顔料が剥落し下層の顔料が微妙な線となってあらわれ、独特の紋様を作る古来からの伝統技術です。

今回のワークショップでは、出来た揉み紙の上から岩絵の具で絵を描きます。初心者の方でもお気軽にご参加ください。

“MOMI” literally means kneaded in Japanese. 

It refers to the to hand-crinkled paper and is a method to create various crumpling patterns by the movement of your fingers. In this workshop you learn how to apply the two different layers of pigments on the paper and crumple them up to producing characteristic patterns.

Make your own Nihonga, which you can take home with you as a souvenir!
